An early morning shooting leaves one man dead and another wounded at a Fairwood area apartment early Sunday morning, October 19.
"Basically this was a party-gone-bad," said Sergeant John Urquhart, spokesperson for the King County Sheriff's Department. Urquhart noted that two males had been kicked out of a party at the apartment and returned later, around 4 a.m. with a shotgun.
The party was in the 13900 block of 173rd Place, the apartment complex on the northwest corner of 140th Ave. SE and Petrovitsky Road.
Several shots were fired, killing a 25 year-old Tacoma man, who died at the scene. Another 21 year-old Renton man was also injured by gunfire. A gun was recovered.
The "Suspects fled but were tracked by a K-9 dog to the house of one of the suspects, in the 13400 block of SE 172 Place which is about 1/2 mile from the shooting. Both were at that house. They were arrested and booked into KCJ (King County Jail) for Investigation of Homicide," said Urquhart.
Both suspects are 20 years old; one lived at the Fairwood address and the other has an Auburn address.
Names will not be released until charges are filed and loved ones are contacted, according to Urquhart.
