The King County Boundary Review Board has reported that work is progressing on the feasibility study for the proposed incorporation for
a new City of Fairwood.
In July, King County awarded the study contract to Redmond-based consultant, Henderson, Young & Company. Total cost for the study is approximately $125,000.
Slight Delay in Schedule
Due to the financial challenges many public organizations are experiencing, a slight delay occurred in the firm's ability to gather financial data from King County, according to King County Boundary Review Board's Lenora Blauman. As a result, the schedule was pushed back slightly.
Blauman thought that the study could wrap up near the end of
November or the beginning of December. At that time, a review team including members of the Boundary Review Board and representatives from citizens group Fairwood Municipal Initiative will review the results
of the study.
With the holidays approaching, schedules become more challenging to coordinate, but Blauman estimated that the review work would be completed either in December or early January 2009.
Once this review is complete, public meetings will be held.
