A 10 year-old girl was kidnapped Monday, January 19, in the Klahanie neighborhood of unincorporated King County. She was released shortly thereafter, uninjured.
The incident occurred near the 4300 block of 249th SE about 4:50 PM. The little girl was riding her bicycle when a man in a smaller, blue pick-up truck pulled over, grabbed the girl and her bike, and drove off.
"The man went about 1½ miles with the girl kicking at him and screaming the entire way," said Sgt. John Urquhart. "He finally pulled over on the Issaquah-Fall City Road, just inside the Issaquah city limits. The suspect pushed her out of the truck and put her bicycle on the sidewalk before leaving."
The victim went to a nearby house asked to use the phone to call her mom and subsequently, was reunited with her mother
At this point, the case is still under investigation. It does appear to be a legitimate kidnapping, according to Urquhart.

ADDITIONAL UPDATE
The King County Sheriff's Office provided an update to this case.
"The 10 year-old Klahanie girl who told Sheriff's deputies she was kidnapped by a long-haired stranger last Monday, January 19, has recanted. She now says it didn’t happen. This case is closed," said Sgt. Urquhart.
The little girl confessed to her parents on Saturday evening, and the parents promptly notified detectives investigating the case.
Urquhart said the girl provided a motive for the false report, but that information will not be released.
