Shoreline Domestic Violence Suspect At Large, Sought by King County Sheriff's Office

Shoreline Suspect JC Johnson

Shoreline Domestic Violence Suspect JC Johnson

Detectives from the King County Sheriff's Office are searching for a “repeat offender” domestic violence suspect.  He is wanted for a series of on-going violent assaults against his wife.

On May 6, Shoreline Police were called to the Canterbury Apartments, 2619 NE 195 Lane.  When they arrived they found a woman in her underwear and suffering from several injuries, including bruising and swelling on her head the size of golf balls, a swollen eye with cuts around it; a scratched neck and severe bruising on her arm, thigh and right side.

The hysterical woman told officers she was assaulted repeatedly in the bedroom by her husband (of two years) with a large rock and he had tried to strangle her.  She said the pattern of violence has been on-going, especially over the last few weeks.

He threatened her with an ice pick and large kitchen knife, and got his 120 lb. Rottweiler to bite her.

The woman pointed out a door knob on the floor near the bed.  She said her husband used it as a weapon to hit her.  There was also a roll of duct tape that he threatened to put over her nose and mouth to, in his words, “make sure [he] got the job done.”

Detectives are looking for the 40 year-old suspect, J.C. Johnson.  They have probable cause for his arrest on several charges, including felonious assault.  Charges are pending.

Johnson is a convicted felon however he is not on active probation with the Dept. of Corrections (DOC), but they do list him as a “violent offender”.

The suspect’s current set of crimes are eerily similar to his past crimes against women, according to his DOC Probation Officer.  She also called him the “worst repeat DV offender I have ever supervised.

Johnson’s current location is unknown, but he reportedly likes to frequent bars in the Lake City area.

The man is African American, 6’ 02” tall, about 240 lbs.,  with little or no hair.

Johnson has a history of actively and violently avoiding arrest.

The public is encouraged to contact the King County Sheriff's Office with any information they may have about this wanted person.
