Fairwood Elementary Foreign Language Program
to Begin Fifth Year, Seeks French Teacher

The Fairwood PTSA Foreign Language Program will launch its fifth year this fall. This year, the group is in need of adding new language teachers.
This program serves between 30 and 50 students a year in Spanish, Japanese and Sign Language. The most current addition sought for the program is adding French.
"Our program is tuition-based and teachers are paid for their time. The classes are taught after school from 3-4 pm, usually one day a week, and the course length is determined by the teacher," said PSTA Co-President and Foreign Language Chair Karen Johnston.
Classes usually begin in October. According to Johnston, the teaching curriculum must be provided by the teacher and is not supplied by the PTSA. Teaching experience (preferrably language teaching experience) and references are required.
Interested teachers are encouraged to contact Karen Johnston at kncjohnston@juno.com.
