Renton Rotary Awards
February Teachers of the Month

Brian Hoskins is a Choral Music Teacher at Nelson Middle School. Hoskins attended Washington State University, where he received a Bachelors degree in Music Education. He continued his education at New York University and earned a Masters in Mustic Education Before joining Renton Schools, Hoskins worked for a non-profit community chorus called Young People's Chorus of New York City.

This is Hoskin's tenth year teaching in the Renton School District.

Rotary members recognize three Renton School District school teachers each month. Other teachers honored this month include Katie Kiekenapp, Kindergarten Teacher at Kennydale Elementary School, and Shawnez Graham, a Fourth Grade Teacher at Campbell Hill Elementary School.

As part of the recognition, teachers attend Rotary’s Teacher of the Month recognition luncheon held At Maplewood Golf Course. Each teacher is introduced, makes a brief comment about their school and classroom.

They also receive $200 to be used for classroom supplies, or instructional
materials.
