Renton Rotary Announces February
Youth of the Month Award

Sophia Trinh, senior at Lindbergh High School, was selected as the Lindbergh Rotary Youth of the Month. White holds a 4.0 G.P.A. and has been a member of Key Club, International Club and the National Honor Society. She has received a National Honor Society Award, National Youth Leader Award, Student of the Month award in several subjects, Youth Usher Appreciation Awards, National Piano Audition Awards, and Top Performance Trophies.

Trinh also volunteers with the International Health Care Services (ICHS), Kidney Center and the Youth Usher Organization.

She plans to attend Seattle University and when she’s finished, she plans to go to medical school at the University of Washington and hopes to become a pediatrician.

Rotary members recognize three Renton School District high school students each month as Youth of the Month.

After being selected by counselors at each of the district’s three high schools, a selection committee of Rotary members reviews applications and interviews students to identify those who will be selected as Youth of the Month.

The award is given to students who possess leadership abilities, maintain a good grade point average, participate in school activities and volunteer in their community.

The students and their parents are honored guests at a regular Rotary luncheon.
