Busy Month for Fairwood Scouts
Boy Scout Troops Prepare
for Food Drive this Saturday

Boy Scout Troop 455 sorts food at the Renton Salvation Army Food Bank.
Just completing their annual Pancake Feast last weekend, Fairwood area Boy Scout Troops haven't forgotten those in need of food for pantries.
While some Scouts were flipping pancakes, others were delivering fliers to Fairwood neighborhoods for their March "Scouting for Food" Food Drive this Saturday, March 20.
Additional Boy Scout Troops will join Troop 455 this Saturday to pick up needed food and personal items for Renton's Salvation Army Food Bank. Neighborhoods targeted were notified last week as Scouts went door-to-door with door hanger reminders.
All are encouraged to support a great cause with very little effort. Simply place your donations on your front porch that morning.
Troop 455's commitment to Food Bank service is an ongoing effort.

"Our troop will drive around the area for pick up and then deliver all donations to the Renton Salvation Army Food bank. "Our troop usually volunteers at this center once a month to sort and crate all the different donated supplies, so they can be ready for folks to pick out by food group/type," said Chris Merrill, a Troop 455 leader. Neighbors are asked to leave non-perishable items in shopping bags on your front porch or doorstep before 9 a.m. the morning of the drive. |
