Kentridge Chatelaines Win Four at State

The awards keeping coming in for this energy-filled, group of green and gold women, the Chatelaines. This year they also stayed true to the traditions of the past, taking FOUR state awards.
The Chats headed to the Yakima Valley SunDome the end of March for the State Competition, held by the Washington State Interscholastic Association. A total of 70 high school teams competed in seven categories, including drill, dance, pop, hip hop, kick, academics and color guard/prop/production.
Of those six categories, the Chats placed in four categories:
Second in Kick
Second in Dance
First in Academics (Highest GPA for a Dance/Drill Team in 4A Division)
First in Guard/Prop/Production
Last year, the Chats were State Champions with a Superior Rank in Kick, won Second Place Superior Rank in the Production of Alice in Wonderland, and placed Fifth Place in Dance.
Congrats to this dedicated team!

Carlene Brown said: I truly enjoy the local articles in the Fairwood Community News each month. In addition, I am a parent of two dancers (Kayla & Amanda Brown) on the Chatelaine Dance/Drill team, and I appreciate the acknowledgement given to a very dedicated and hard working team. The Kentridge Chatelaines do give Kent a sense of pride on & off of the dance floor. Thank you for highlighting them and for the wonderful job FCN does to keep us updated and involved in our community.
Thanks so much! We LOVE to support and recognize our local partners in making the area a great place to live! - Ed
