Prepares for Family Fun Day
If one were to name a local business focused on family fun, Fairwood Pet Center would be on that list, finding perfect pets and supplies to enhance the family experience.
That daily fun multiplies this Saturday, April 24, when the Annual Family Fun Day begins. It's a day full of activities including a hamster race, a fashion show, and a demonstration by the ever-popular Reptile King Don Riggs.
Fairwood Pet Center's Annika Daley started Family Fun Day because she felt the store should support the community, bringing all together for a positive event.
Annika says the day is "for families to create memories they can share for a lifetime. It is also a great escape from the day to day worries from what the world offers. It's a chance to play all day; it is a part of what Fairwood Pet Center is."

Past events have involved large groups of people, and because of the great feedback, the staff wanted to make this year's "even bigger and better," according to Daley. Daley remembers past Family Fun Days and loves that all enjoy such a positive experience. "The best highlight of all of our past events is creating that great, positive energy that is contagious to everyone. Laughing, smiling, everyone having a wonderful time, and you don't have to travel far," said Daley. |
One of the popular events is the Pet Fashion Show.
"It is such a riot because they are always so unpredictable, said Daley. "We love the opportunity to see people with their extended families dogs/cats/birds/small animals/reptiles, you name it (we also enjoy seeing the "puppies" from Fairwood Pet Center - all grown, healthy, and happy). It's another way to keep in touch with our customers and say thank you."
Reptile King a New Addition
Fairwood Pet Center is excited about adding the Reptile King to its list of events on Saturday. He has never visited the store, so he should be a popular attraction for kids and parents that day.
"We have never had 150 pound tortoises, alligators, snakes, or reptiles in this magnitude before. He is very charismatic and are looking forward to his demonstration, the show & tell, and the hands-on experience he will bring," said Daley
Store Specials, Too
In addition to all the fun planned for the day, customers will also enjoy the sales staff have, including a special discount on puppies.
"We will be having select sales throughout the store, including $50.00 off our precious puppies. Spring is not complete without the addition of a puppy to the household!" said Daley.
Activities begin at 10 a.m. with Hamster Races. At noon the Reptile King begins his fascinating demonstration, and the ever-popular Fashion Show wraps up the major events for the day.
