"Don't Spend a Thing"
KR Senior Night Fundraiser
Offers Cash for Gold

Kentridge Senior moms are preparing for what will be the last fund raising event for the class of 2010. Thursday evening, April 29, Kentridge Senior Class moms are holding a special event where Fairwood area residents won't spend a thing. In fact, they can leave the event with extra cash in their pockets and help a worthy cause to keep KR Seniors safe on Grad Night.
The Kentridge High School PTSA has hosted the Senior Night Party (Grad Night) for many years. This is an all-night, drug and alcohol free event for KR seniors, which is held on the night of graduation.
The purpose of this party is to provide a safe and secure venue(s) where seniors can have fun and celebrate their accomplishments with their fellow classmates. Traditionally, approximately 250 seniors attend this event. Transportation is provided to and from the venue(s) for a night of food, fun, friends, entertainment, and prizes.
To supplement the cost and keep the student ticket prices affordable, the PTSA has raised almost half of the fees for this celebration by holding an auction in November. A significant amount of the money raised will provide scholarships for students that are unable to pay for a ticket.
A second fundraiser used to reach their final goal is set for this Thursday, April 29.
"The PTSA hopes that the slogan, 'the very first fundraiser where you won’t be spending a thing' will attract a lot of folks who want to actually come home with money in their pocket!" said Senior Party Co-Chair Martha MacKinnon.
