The Lake Desire Community

The Lake Desire Community is fortunate to live around quiet Lake Desire, just east of the Fairwood Shopping core on the north side of Petrovitsky Road.

This community features a variety of custom-built homes in a peaceful lake setting.

Fairwood, a friendly bedroom community is a short commute to a variety of Puget Sound locations, including a 30-45 minute commute to Downtown Seattle.

Clean Up
Lake Desire Clean Up Crew 2010

  1. Annual Lake Desire Clean Up Report – Thanks to the many volunteers who helped clean up the clubhouse and grounds last Saturday!  There were two Girl Scout Troops, Ladies’ Fitness and several Lake Desire residents who chipped in. A big thanks to Heather Stafford, Heather.Stafford@comcast.net for coordinating. A lot of work was done in just two hours.
  2. Annual Pancake BreakfastSaturday, 3/13, 7-11am – Boy Scouts Troop #455 – Fairwood Methodist Church 15255 SE Fairwood Blvd. Renton – Adults $5, Children 10 years old & under $3.  Details contact Heather Smith, Heather@smith.net.
  3. Fairwood Pet Vaccinations Sunday, 3/14, 10:30-12 – Fairwood Pet Center
  4. St. Patrick’s Day Potluck/Live MusicSaturday, 3/20, 6:30pm – Community Potluck starts at 6:30pm at the Clubhouse.  The club will provide corned beef and cabbage, punch and coffee.  Please bring your favorite side dish or dessert.  Country music will start at 8pm.   5. Emergency Preparedness TeamMonday, 3/29, 6:30pm - We will be getting together at the Clubhouse to mail out some Map Your Neighborhood information to residents. Pizza provided.  Please RSVP to Phyllis Miller, pamiller1234@aol.com if interested in helping out.  
  6. Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday, 4/3, 2pm – Clubhouse - The Easter Bunny will make his annual appearance, and there will be prizes for ages up to 12.  Bring your Easter baskets.  Please also bring some cookies to share.  Punch and hot dogs provided.  Contact Heather Smith, Heather@smith.net  for details.
  7. Sewer Contractor Referral Wanted – If you have hired a sewer contractor recently, and would recommend them to your neighbor, please contact Phyllis Miller, pamiller1234@aol.com
  8. Neighborhood Watch – Recently I had a mysterious flooding where the hose was turned on by someone.  Simultaneously, I got a call from a Community Correction Officer, and he informed me that my deceased husband’s daughter had failed to report to her halfway house after 3 months out of Purdy.  There is a warrant out for her arrest. If you see a late 40’s early 50’s woman with brown or blond hair, about 5’7 missing teeth in the Lake Desire area, call 911 and tell them you think this is Christine VanNostrand who has a warrant out for her arrest. Do not approach her; she may be dangerous or traveling with dangerous people. Submitted by Nancy, altercoach@comcast.net

Neighborhood Watch Volunteers Wanted - Phyllis Miller is working with Officer Shirley and another local Neighborhood Coordinators to see what we need to do to get a Neighborhood Watch Team started in the Lake Desire Area.  If anyone is interested in helping with a Neighborhood Watch, please contact Phyllis Miller, pamiller1234@aol.com.
  10. Childcare Wanted - My name is Crystal Spark and I am looking for someone dependable to watch my almost three year old when I start working. I am not positive at this point of the exact schedule, but it would probably be in the morning on weekdays please send replies to spark.crystal@yahoo.com.
  11. Lake Desire Memberships Due – Informational Emails will only be sent to members this year starting in April.  It is only $10 to receive Emails for the year or $20 for full membership.  Please send your dues in to Lake Desire Community Club, c/o Vi Anderson, 17232 174th Ave SE Renton, WA 98058. 
  • $10 Membership Fee – Seniors (65 or over) or families who want to only receive community E-mails.
  • $20 Full Membership Fee – Families who want to vote, receive E-mails, submit community e-mails such as lost pets, etc., and receive rental discounts.

Lake Desire Clubhouse For Rent

Lake Desire Clubhouse Rental
Contact Vi Anderson at 425-226-7005 or woods_inn@msn.com  for details.  Backup is Heather Smith, Heather@smith.net. The clubhouse features a full kitchen, tables and chairs to seat up to 40 people (max 60), and restrooms. Members receive a discount on renting the community clubhouse.  The normal rate is $80 to rent the clubhouse for 12 hoursor ($20 per hour- min. of 3 hours.) Members can rent the clubhouse at a discount for only $65 per day. Membership is $20 for the calendar year for individuals/families or $10 for senior citizens.
