The Lake Desire Community is fortunate to live around quiet Lake Desire, just east of the Fairwood Shopping core on the north side of Petrovitsky Road.
This community features a variety of custom-built homes in a peaceful lake setting.
Fairwood, a friendly bedroom community is a short commute to a variety of Puget Sound locations, including a 30-45 minute commute to Downtown Seattle.

March 22 Updates
- Neighborhood Watch – There was some police activity last Saturday night in our neighborhood. There has been no information in the news. First there were reports of a man being arrested from a home just before the public access around 6pm. Around 7pm a house down 174th Ave (the Christian School Road) area was surrounded by police. At around 10pm the SWAT Team moved in and it was finally quiet around 11pm. One neighbor heard that it was a land dispute between two neighbors, and one of the neighbors brandished a weapon. - Neighborhood Watch Initial Team Meeting – Monday, 3/22, 6:30pm – Any interested neighbors are invited to meet at the Fairwood Starbuck’s. The intent of this initial meeting is to learn what we can from a local watch captain, and see how to apply it in our area. If you are interested in helping, contact Phyllis Miller, pamiller1234@aol.com.
- Emergency Preparedness/Neighborhood Watch Mailing – Monday, 3/29, 6:30pm - We will be getting together at the Clubhouse to mail out some Map Your Neighborhood information to residents. Pizza provided. Please RSVP to Phyllis Miller, pamiller1234@aol.com if interested in helping out.

- Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday, 4/3, 2pm – Clubhouse - The Easter Bunny will make his annual appearance, and there will be prizes for ages up to 12. Bring your Easter baskets. Please also bring some cookies to share. Punch and hot dogs provided. Contact Heather Smith, Heather@smith.net for details.
- St. Patrick’s Day Potluck Event– Thanks to those neighbors who attended last Saturday. Vi reported that about 40 people enjoyed the corned beef potluck and the live band.
- Lake Desire Memberships Due – Informational Emails will only be sent to members this year starting in April. It is only $10 to receive Emails for the year or $20 for full membership. Please send your dues in to Lake Desire Community Club, c/o Vi Anderson, 17232 174th Ave SE Renton, WA 98058.
- $10 Membership Fee – Seniors (65 or over) or families who want to only receive community E-mails.
- $20 Full Membership Fee – Families who want to vote, receive E-mails, submit community e-mails such as lost pets, etc., and receive rental discounts.

Lake Desire Clubhouse Rental
Contact Vi Anderson at 425-226-7005 or woods_inn@msn.com for details. Backup is Heather Smith, Heather@smith.net. The clubhouse features a full kitchen, tables and chairs to seat up to 40 people (max 60), and restrooms. Members receive a discount on renting the community clubhouse. The normal rate is $80 to rent the clubhouse for 12 hours or ($20 per hour- min. of 3 hours.) Members can rent the clubhouse at a discount for only $65 per day. Membership is $20 for the calendar year for individuals/families or $10 for senior citizens.
