The Lake Desire Community is fortunate to live around quiet Lake Desire, just east of the Fairwood Shopping core on the north side of Petrovitsky Road.

Fairwood, a friendly bedroom community is a short commute to a variety of Puget Sound locations, including a 30-45 minute commute to Downtown Seattle.

March 4 Updates

  1. Annual Lake Desire Clean Up – 3/6/10 at 10am-12pm – Come help clean up the Lake Desire Clubhouse and Grounds. Heather Stafford, Heather.Stafford@comcast.net is coordinating.  Bring gloves, rakes, and anything else you think might be needed for getting the clubhouse & grounds taken care of.  See you then!
  2. Lake Desire Memberships Due – Informational Emails will only be sent to members this year starting in April.  It is only $10 to receive Emails for the year or $20 for full membership.  Please send your dues in to Lake Desire Community Club, c/o Vi Anderson, 17232 174th Ave SE Renton, WA 98058. 
  • $10 Membership Fee – Seniors (65 or over) or families who want to only receive community E-mails.
  • $20 Full Membership Fee – Families who want to vote, receive E-mails, submit community e-mails such as lost pets, etc., and receive rental discounts.
  1. Fairwood Neighborhood Watch – There was a home invasion near 196th between Renton and Maple Valley last Friday where a man was shot.  Here is some information: http://www.nwcn.com/news/washington/Renton-man-survives-home-invasion-shooting-85478397.html. Thanks to Nancy Gonzales for sending.
  2. Emergency Preparedness Team– Monday, 3/29, 6:30pm - We will be getting together at the Clubhouse to mail out some Map Your Neighborhood information to residents. Pizza provided.  Please RSVP to Phyllis Miller, pamiller1234@aol.com if interested in coming.  
  3. Lake Desire Neighborhood Watch - The Emergency Preparedness Team is interested in working also as a Neighborhood Watch Team.  Phyllis is working with Officer Shirley and another local Coordinator to see what we need to do to get a Neighborhood Watch Team started in the Lake Desire Area.  Phyllis is willing to head up the team only if we get a few interested neighbors to help out. If anyone is interested in helping with a Neighborhood Watch, please contact Phyllis Miller, pamiller1234@aol.com.

Lake Desire Clubhouse For Rent

Lake Desire Clubhouse Rental
Contact Vi Anderson at 425-226-7005 or woods_inn@msn.com  for details.  Backup is Heather Smith, Heather@smith.net. The clubhouse features a full kitchen, tables and chairs to seat up to 40 people (max 60), and restrooms. Members receive a discount on renting the community clubhouse.  The normal rate is $75 to rent the clubhouse for the whole day or ($15 per hour- min. of 3 hours.) Members can rent the clubhouse at a discount for only $60 per day. Membership is $15 for the calendar year for individuals/families or $10 for senior citizens.
