Be Part of History at LHS!
Now is your chance to become a real part of history at Lindbergh High School - literally! The LHS Boosters are proud to be able to offer the Second Round of personalized ENGRAVED BRICKS. The bricks were part of the renovation for the brand new Commons, which opened in the spring of 2006.
Each brick allows up to three (3) lines; up to 20 characters of text per line, and will be permanently installed outside of the Commons entrance.
Your name, your child(ren)’s name, or your personal message, will be memorialized for future generations to come. It will be a lasting message of your involvement with the Lindbergh community.
The price per brick is $55. The order form is available at the Boosters website, www.lindberghboosters.org, or contact Carrie Wong at sidekik@msn.com, and a form will be e-mailed to you.
The due date for all orders is May 22, 2009.
LINDBERGH TRACK MEETS
The “All City” Track Meet which will take place on Friday, May 8th, Renton Memorial Stadium.
The 3 Renton High Schools compete against one another at this meet. Information for this meet are as follows:

The Seamount League Meet will take place on Wednesday, May 13th and Friday, May 15th, Renton Memorial Stadium.
Athletes with the top 16 times/distances in league meets throughout the year compete against one another at this meet. Field events begin at 3:15 and running events begin at 4PM on both days. The top 4 overall finishers in each event advance to the district meet at Mt. Tahoma on May 22nd and May 23rd. Admission prices are the same as above except for Senior Citizens are charged $3 admission for this league meet. No Checks will be accepted at either meet.
There is no “re-entry” for either of these meets (once you leave the stadium, you are not allowed to re-enter).
Lindbergh Open Gym Announcement for Volleyball
We will be holding open gyms in the Lindbergh lower gym on Mondays and Tuesdays thru May. The hours are 7-9 pm, and the dates are May 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, and Tuesday the 26th following Memorial Day. This is a great chance to play some volleyball. It's open to both boys and girls, and Nelsen students as well as Lindbergh. We will setup two courts.
We are also planning some activities for June. More information about that will be available at the open gyms.

2010 TRIP TO FRANCE

LINDBERGH FOOTBALL PROGRAM
Coach Pat O’Grady and the entire Lindbergh Football Staff would like to thank all incoming Lindbergh Freshman who have shown interest in joining the Football Program. Spring football begins Monday, June 1st for all returning LHS students. We would like to invite all Nelson 8th graders interested in playing football to join the spring drills on Monday, June 8th. Practices will be from 3-5:00pm, Monday – Thursday, on the baseball field at LHS. 2009 is going to be fun and exciting and we hope that all of you will come join us!

MATH TUTORS NEEDED!
We have a need for people to work with freshman learning Algebra 1, who need help with basic math skills while doing problems in an online class at Lindbergh High School. Most of these students need to walked through basic Algebra Skills and guided past typical careless errors.
The greatest need for tutors is from 10:30 to 11:30am on a typical day. There is also a need for the time period from 9:30 to 10:30am.
Volunteers who can come in 1 or 2 times a week would be wonderful, but we will also take them daily!

* A correction – the “.5 clause” in the graduation section is no longer part of the graduation procedure. A student now must meet all of the graduation criteria in order to participate in the ceremony.

* Also note for graduation, that students must have all fines and tardies cleared.

Letter to Senior Parents, Dated April 14, 2009 - This letter was passed out to All Seniors to bring home to parents:
Dear Senior Parent – Graduation is fast approaching and we want to be sure and communicate with you our guidelines for distributing graduation tickets. Commencement for the class of 2009 will be held at ShoWare Events Center in Kent on June 12, 2009 @ 7:30 p.m.
Each senior will automatically be issued six (6) tickets (at no charge)
Each senior can purchase additional tickets @ $10.00 each
During the May 8th meeting, each senior will be given a ticket request form that is due to Mrs. Hood in the Main Office by May 22nd if they want more than 6 tickets.
Keep in mind that in order for a senior to pick-up their tickets, all fines and detentions must by cleared. A fine list will be posted in the Main Office & ASB Office or you may contact Mrs. Koch. It is the students’ responsibility to make sure they do not have fines. Detentions can be served before school in the Attendance Office or after school in the upper auditorium. If detention hours are not completed or fines are owed, there will be a hold on the tickets until it is taken care of. Please work with your son/daughter in making sure that their fines are paid and/or detention hours are made up.

The Reflections program is alive and well at the high school level. The program is a National and Washington State PTA student arts recognition program. NEW DATE: TUESDAY, MAY 26 - JAZZ NIGHT
AND DESSERT AUCTION
Dear Nelsen Band /Orchestra Parents and Students:
We are busy preparing for our upcoming Jazz Night and Dessert Auction on Tuesday, May 26, at Nelsen Middle School. This is a special concert that we are adding to our concert schedule.
The concert will feature the Nelsen MS Jazz Orchestra, Nelsen MS Jazz Band, Lindbergh HS Jazz Choir, and a special performance by professional Jazz Saxophone player Darren Motamedy.
This concert is a special fundraiser for funds for Orchestra and Band instruments and repair. The evening will feature a silent auction with special desserts (and sugar-free desserts). The silent auction starts at 6:30 pm, with performances to begin at 7:00 pm in the Nelsen Cafetorium.
We hope to present a tempting array of desserts for your bidding. Bids will start at $10.00 per dessert.
