Lindbergh High School students recognized as Outstanding Seniors
May 27, 2009 — Twelve extraordinary Lindbergh High School students were recognized as Outstanding Seniors by Renton School Board members at tonight’s meeting.
Lindbergh High principal Tres Genger introduced the 12 students as an exceptionally talented group of young people who have received numerous individual honors, succeed in the classroom, served their community and represented Lindbergh High School with poise and honor.
Students were selected based on their academic achievement, leadership, co-curricular involvement, citizenship and character, community service and contributions to their classmates and school.
Students spoke briefly during the presentation about what made them successful in school and motivated them in their personal life. They recognized their parents in attendance, acknowledged friendships with other students, and honored teachers and others as "Most Inspirational."

COMMUNITY NEWS

Renton Rotary Youth Exchange … “Promoting World Peace Through Understanding”
Dear Renton Rotarians - and other interested families in Renton:

The Rotary Youth Exchange Committee needs your help!  We are in need of a host family for our current exchange student, Manuel Roman from Ecuador, who attends Lindbergh High School.  Manuel is a really nice young man!   He speaks fluent English and enjoys swimming.  Now that track season is over, he has been swimming frequently to stay in shape.  He enjoys the companionship of kids his own age, so a family with children would be ideal.

The time period would be from now until July 16, 2009.
Please consider hosting a student in your home; encourage your friends and colleagues to become host families; spread the word to businesses and organizations you work with that are active in the Renton community; and share your creative ideas for attracting host families and potential exchange students with YE committee members.  If you think you might like to host Manuel, please call Nancy Osborn at 425.793.1240 to learn more.

Rotary Youth Exchange is a wonderful way to promote Peace but it truly requires special efforts by club members and our community.  We appreciate your continued support to keep this program active in Renton.

Sincerely,

Renton Rotary Youth Exchange Committee

The updates are provided as a courtesy via Lindbergh's PTSA, and are not intended to replace regular U.S. mail, or written material sent through the kids.  The updates merely serve as either additional notice, or a precursor of things to come, and helps rally parents and promote camaraderie.  Please remember to ask your child for hand-outs from school, and read them!
Please remember to support the PTSA and Lindbergh Boosters Club - they are the main vehicles by which parents can keep informed and in contact with the school and each other!
If you want to be removed from the e-mail list, please e-mail me at sidekik@msn.com.  Please feel free to forward this to other Lindbergh parents, so they will know what is going on!!!

Thanks, everyone!!
