Mariner's DREAM Team Visits Carriage Crest
The Mariners went back to elementary school on Tuesday afternoon, May 19, but it wasn't to brush up on their arithmetic, spelling or history.
These favorite athletes ventured out to rub elbows with some young Mariners fans.
The Mariners' visit was a part of Carriage Crest Elementary's annual "Mariners D.R.E.A.M. Team Day" assemblies. This event is one of the ways for the players to give back to the community.
Roy Corcoran, Rob Johnson, Mark Lowe, Brandon Morrow, Sean White and pitching coach Rick Adair shared their personal insights and “dreams” with students, staff, and parents. "The audience also had the opportunity to watch videos of great Mariner moments and were enthralled with every clip they saw," said Instructional Coach Susan Fish.
The D.R.E.A.M. Team is a comprehensive program that stresses the importance of the D.R.E.A.M. principles:
Drug-free,
Respect for yourself and others,
Education through reading,
Attitude, and
Motivation to achieve your dreams.
The assemblies included audience participation and interaction with the players. Everyone received a copy of the school letterhead stationery autographed by each member of the “Dream Team” a copy of the Little League magazine, and an 8” x 10” glossy photograph of the Mariner Moose!
